Welcome (or should I say...Bonjour!)

I've put this site together to raise awareness of the massive undertaking I have signed myself up for next July and the charity fundraising behind it. If you know nothing about the Etape, me, or Macmillan Cancer then read on! And don't forget the all important sponsorship! Even if you can only afford to sponsor a little - it all helps and its for a great cause!! Thanks and happy reading!    (sorry for the cheesy pictures!)

introductionKing of the Mountains! At least I hope so some July 2013!

So... the Etape du Tour, what is it exactly?
Literally translated, the Etape du Tour means "Stage of the Tour" and it is exactly that - a stage of the world-famous Tour de France bike race that has been opened up for the public to compete in since 1993.

And I've entered... What am I thinking!?!

Well first and foremost, it's for a great cause.

Taking place on July 7th 2013, the etape is one of the hardest sporting events you can do - have a look for yourself!

The etape by numbers

  • 81 miles in the French Alps

  •    Nearly 3,600 metres of climbing
(more than half of Mount Kilimanjiro!
          total height: 5,895m)

  •          10,000 cyclists take part each year

  •             Over £1,000 (with your help) raised
                   for Macmillan Cancer!
